Today is the day

20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Corinthians 5:20-21)

Today is the day! Lent has been leading up to this — the commemoration of the day Jesus redeemed all creation, the day He made a way for us to become His righteousness! What a concept!

Because of Good Friday, because of the way He sacrificed Himself, we are put right with God, rescued from hopelessness and restored to relationship with our Creator.

Reconciled to God!

Because of Good Friday, because of the Cross, everything is going to be just fine.

The cross in all its brutality and horror is the picture of the length God went to, just to rescue you and bring you back to Him. It’s His ringing declaration of love for you — look at the crucified One and hear His voice: “This is how I love you!”

The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
